Registration for Awana Fall 2026 opens June 1st
@ 10am for volunteers and their families

Welcome to Awana at Central

Awana is a place for kids to learn and grow in their relationship with God through intentional discipleship materials and scripture memorization. It is an exciting opportunity for them to make new friends, play exciting games, receive awards for their achievements, and connect meaningfully with one another, their leader and God.

Awana stands for “Approved Workmen Are Not Ashamed” and is taken from 2 Timothy 2:15.

The Awana program encourages children to experience God by learning His word in a regular and systematic manner. Each group has age- appropriate handbooks for you and your child to work through together. Children are rewarded for remembering God’s Word, as they recite their verses with their leaders on a weekly basis.

Registration Requirements

Awana is not a stand-alone program. It is connected to the bigger mid-week discipleship plan for CSC.

***Please read carefully to see if you/your child are eligible***

  • If you are from another church, you must be signed-up for one of our mid-week discipleship programs running on Thursday night.
  • All children who do not have a church home and are invited by a friend can come without a requirement of having to attend CSC.
  • A parent is signed up to volunteer in Awana OR
  • A parent is signed up for a mid-week discipleship program running on Thursday night (Discipleship classes will drop off their registered kids in Awana at 6:30pm and class content will start at 6:45pm) OR

About 90 percent of our volunteers in Awana are needed to run small groups. There are two adults assigned per small group and as a team you work together throughout the year.

You will select your top THREE choices and one choice must be a small group leader.

Please be aware that all volunteers need to arrive at 6:15pm for Huddle and some of the positions do require an earlier/later time.

FAQ

When you register for Awana, the registration fee includes one uniform and one handbook. These are required for your child to bring each week. Optional items, such as book bags and other accessories, are available for purchase if you’d like.

If your child is new to Awana, they will need a new uniform or if they are in a new age group. Cubbies, Sparks, T&T, Trek and Journey keep the same uniform through-out their time in the programs.

If your child is new to Awana, they will need a new handbook with the exception of Puggles who do not need a book. All children in Kindergarten to Grade 2 will continue in a previous handbook if they did not complete it. However, all Cubbies, T&T, Trek and Journey kids will work on the same handbook with one section per week.

Every registering family must provide a weekly adult volunteer that attends Centre Street Church. Also, as a parent you need to commit to bring your child weekly to AWANA, and being intentional about helping your child complete the handbook sections which can include Bible verse memorization, review or questions. Not only do we want your children to experience discipleship, but we want to help set them up to succeed when it comes to learning God’s truths found directly in His Word.

Please contact the Awana Ministry Director at [email protected]. One option is to attend a mid-week discipleship group so you can register your kids for Awana. However, before registering please ensure that you contact the Ministry Director to discuss.

Unfortunately we can not refund you your money once your registration is complete. When we process your registration form we count on those funds when making orders to AWANA for club supplies.
