I have a passion for discipleship, walking with people on the journey with Jesus and helping them find where and how they can use their gifts. I first started doing this with university students in Lisbon Portugal in 1998. Today, 27 years later, I still believe that discipleship is the key to having healthy families, grace-filled and growing churches, active and engaged members who share their faith lovingly and naturally, and who build into their communities and societies. Over the years my roles have changed within Portugal, but my passion has remained the same.
Today I co-lead a Portuguese church on the outskirts of Lisbon, and I am the co-General Secretary (CEO) of the European Evangelical Alliance (EEA). As a side-gig, and to keep my feet firmly on the ground, I also help coordinate a local rugby club (yes, one of my sons plays rugby). As a church leader I am committed to helping our church walk and serve together in community, to be responsible members not only of our church, but also in their workplace, and society. As the General Secretary of the EEA I have the privilege of supporting 35 National Evangelical Alliances across Europe. The EEA wants to see movements of Jesus followers glorifying God and serving people across Europe. Our mission is to connect for common purpose, equip for integral mission and represent with a united voice. Whether it is speaking to lawmakers in Brussels, or encouraging a national movement to work in unity and for a common goal, or sitting with a National leader who is tired and discouraged, my job is to make Christ known in Europe. My job is casting vision, pastoral care of leaders, networking with organizations and churches, and encouraging national evangelical churches and organizations to work together to see Europe reached with the Good News of Jesus Christ in a winsome, and gracious way.
