Ark Church – Liuboml, Ukraine
Roman Kantor currently serves as a deacon at Ark Church in the town of Liuboml in the Volyn region. Roman is married to Ivanka, and together they are raising their daughter, Emilia.
The mission of Ark Church is to seek, to disciple, and to glorify God. Their ministry (supported by HART, CSC and donors) includes children's and youth programs, evangelism, chaplaincy, and outreach work. The team regularly visits hospitals, prisons, and local residents to share the message of hope.
Every Saturday, they set up a tent in the city centre where they preach the Gospel, offer warm tea, share personal testimonies about Jesus, and distribute Christian literature. They also run children's clubs in three nearby villages each weekend. In addition, the church operates a Life Centre, where local residents can come for support and practical assistance.
As a deacon, Roman leads children's and youth ministries, preaches at church, helps organize children's camps, and serves as a member of the worship team. His primary focus is nurturing the next generation through children's and youth work.
The vision for the children's ministry is their future with Jesus. During their formative years, the team plants God's Word in their hearts, shows them His love, and supports both the children and their families. As the children grow, they begin to develop a personal interest in God, and the team encourages them to become part of the ministry themselves — to serve other children and grow in faith.
Those who move on from the children's ministry are welcomed into the youth ministry, where they continue to be mentored and supported at a more mature level. Every Tuesday, the team visits a local dormitory to connect with students. At first, they simply built relationships — but now, many students have begun seeking them out, attending youth meetings, and showing genuine interest in the church and in Christ.
The vision behind this ministry is broad and long-term: they serve, share the message of Jesus, and believe that one day these young people will return to their own villages — forming home groups and, eventually, new churches.
