Grace Church – Pavlivka, Ukraine

The ministry and direction of the church became clear after a careful study of the social and spiritual environment in which they serve. Located in Western Ukraine β€” a region rich in Orthodox culture β€” people in this area are familiar with religious forms and traditions that, while deeply rooted in history, often do not bring true freedom from sin or a personal knowledge of God.

Their mission (supported by HART, CSC and donors) is to fill the community with the truth of God β€” through both word and action, preaching and daily life β€” and to demonstrate the beauty and practicality of a living relationship with Christ. Children and youth are at the heart of their ministry. They believe that by offering young people a Christ-centred alternative, they can help protect their hearts from the influence of evil and lead them toward a life filled with purpose and hope.

That is why evangelism, Sunday school, youth clubs, and summer camps are key parts of their vision and strategy. Through ministry to children, they also reach their parentsβ€”many of whom are familiar with religion but have not yet experienced a personal encounter with Jesus Christ.

Their church is located in a rural area where infrastructure is limited and most families live on small pensions or modest incomes. People often lack access to basic recreational opportunities such as theatres, museums, stadiums, or swimming pools. For this reason, one of their greatest dreams is to build a Christian community centreβ€”a place with a park, a swimming pool, and spaces for rest, recreation, and spiritual growth.

Although this dream remains beyond their current resources, they remain faithful in small things. They pave walkways, build benches, and care for the area around the church. Recently, they planted a small park beside the church, which has already become a peaceful space where people from the community come to rest and find encouragement.
