Calvary Church - Kherson, Ukraine
The believers in Kherson are deeply honoured and blessed to partner with HART, CSC and supporters in the Gospel. They are sincerely grateful for your faithful prayers and ongoing support.
Pastor Yevheniy Bondarenko serves in Kherson, a city in southern Ukraine located on the front line, where shelling and danger continue day and night. Despite the constant threat, many people have remained in the city — and the church is there to serve them, pointing them to the love of Jesus Christ, who alone has the power to save, protect, and guide through these difficult times.
Around 70% of residents have lost their homes and possessions, many have been wounded, and everyone carries fear and sorrow. Yet in the midst of pain, hearts are opening to the Gospel. People are coming to church in great numbers, seeking comfort and truth. The believers in Kherson remain close to their neighbours, serving them with compassion and steadfast faith.
All church buildings in the region have suffered from bomb attacks — some have been completely destroyed. Still, the congregation continues to meet wherever possible. People are coming to faith, repenting, and being baptized.
A special focus of their ministry is serving children who still live in frontline areas. These little ones are the most vulnerable and require extra care and attention. Pastor Yevheniy also regularly visits villages around Kherson, starting new Bible groups that, in time, grow into local churches. In addition, he serves as a military chaplain, visiting troops, preaching the Gospel, and helping meet their spiritual needs.
The ever-changing reality of war demands great flexibility, yet Pastor Yevheniy and his team know clearly why they are there — to stand with their people, share in their struggles, and lead them to Christ.
His beloved wife, Natalia, faithfully shares in all the challenges of frontline ministry, providing strength and encouragement that help him continue this calling.
The Kherson church family is deeply thankful for your prayers and generous support. Your partnership is a true blessing and a source of hope. Thank you for standing with them as they shine the light of Christ in one of the hardest places to serve.
