Position Description

The Life Journey First Step Life Journey Facilitator has the first meeting with those who are new to Compassionate Ministries and beginning a journey, initially around a practical need. They facilitate an assessment to see in what ways Centre Street may help the neighbour.

Responsibilities

• Provide encouragement and support to neighbours

• Keep record of meetings on First Step Form

• Provide resources and information as needed to the people we meet

• Be ready to share your faith story when the opportunity presents itself

Time Commitment

Meetings with people is on an appointment basis. These appointments are scheduled at mutually agreeable times and last approximately 30 minutes. They typically occur during periods of time that staff members are also available. These may also occur in a more informal settings such as during times that the Well Café is open. These are the times that appointments are typically scheduled.

• Tuesday and Thursday 9:00 am to 12:00 pm

• Monday and Wednesday 5:30 pm to 8:00 pm

Qualifications

• Understanding of, and agreement with, the CSC Statement of Faith, Mission and Pursuits (cf https://www.cschurch.ca/central/about/who-we-are/)

• Familiarity with Compassion & Care mission, vision and process
