Many people are not aware, or do not believe that human trafficking happens in their community. The truth is, human trafficking is one of the fastest growing crimes in Canada. It has devastating impacts on victims, their families, and society. It does not discriminate, and can happen to anyone. While it looks different in various communities around the world, it is always an outcome of force, fraud, and coercion. It is a violation of human dignity, and an attack on the nature of what it means to be “made in the image of God.”
