Christmas Through The Eyes of Simeon

The cliche Good things come to those who waits may best describe this less referenced character in the Bible, Simeon. What do we see when we look at Simeon's life? We see the example of a Godly man. We see his patience and his faith as he waits for the consolation of Israel and in the promise made to him by God that he would not die before he has seen the Lord's Christ. We see his obedience to the leading of the Holy Spirit to go to the temple courts, and when Simeon holds baby Jesus in his arms, the promise of the messiah and salvation is fulfilled, not just for the Jewish people, but for all people.
