#Revelation 3:14-22; Matthew 6:19-21#
Ashwin says the church in Laodicea, or the lukewarm church, had become self-sufficient and complacent, relying on their wealth and material prosperity rather than on God. Jesus rebukes them, saying they are wretched, pitiful, poor, blind, and naked, despite their outward appearance of success. Ashwin emphasizes that Jesus is not just criticizing their behavior, but also extending an invitation to repent and return to a vibrant relationship with Him. Jesus stands at the door of the church, knocking, and waiting for them to open the door and let Him in, to fellowship with them and restore His presence. Ashwin encourages the congregation to reflect on their own relationship with Jesus, to surrender control to Him, and to repent if their faith has become lukewarm, so that Jesus can restore His presence and draw them closer to His heart.
