Jesus and the Legalists

In Matt 12:1-8, the Pharisees attempt to find fault with Jesus' disciples for breaking the Sabbath. Jesus uses this opportunity to clarify God's heart for the Sabbath and how to apply this principle to our daily life. God ultimately desires mercy and the commandments of God are for our benefit. We also witness the powerful identity of Jesus who offers the true Sabbath rest.
